State of the art of Artificial Intelligence in Games.
Nowadays, game AI developers rarely have a chance to work on higher-level AI, like believable and interesting NPCs that can learn, have emotions and complex reasoning and interaction skills, or an automated story-telling system that adapts to a player's interests. Much more likely, an AI developer will spend her time struggling with low-level pathfinding details.
Many Artificial Intelligence techniques have been developed in academic research, however relatively few have actually been transferred and are used in the development of commercial video games. In this special session we invite submission of papers from current research in Artificial Intelligence proposing new approaches specific to computer game requirements.
